Here at Nerd Chefs, two of our greatest loves in life are football and food. This month, we get to combine them. As the college and NFL seasons roll out coast to coast, we're rolling out some of our favorite tailgate recipes.
The long wait is over, football season is here! With it comes tailgates, house parties and yelling at referees. As fans, we need to prep. We must practice our loudest cheers, memorize the fight song and eat like champions. That's where we come in. Every good fan needs to fuel up before (and during) the big game. But you can do better than boring burgers and hot dogs. That's why all month long we're breaking out our biggest and best tailgate recipes.
Why I love Tailgate Recipes
In addition to this here food blog, my job takes me around the country working college football games coast to coast. And every unique stadium atmosphere has its own awesome tailgates. From "Sail-gating" in Seattle, Texas BBQ in Austin and College Station to the undefeated tailgate scene at Ole Miss, the party before the game is just as big of a deal as the game itself.
And while we won't be running a 4.4 40-yard-dash and turning the heads of NFL scouts any time soon, we can still win our tailgate parties with some awesome recipes. Simple, delicious and guaranteed to impress.
